Covering the sessions of CHESTER MUNICIPAL COUNCIL
Map improved courtesy of Grant Crouse.
Chester Municipal council notes
Rezoning of Duke street home. The property
of 157 Duke Street has been rezoned from institutional
back to low-density residential. The property was originally
zoned low-density residential but was rezoned to
institutional several months ago to make room for a
day care. The day care backed out, looking for a better
property.
Adopt-a-book declined funding. Council
refused a request to grant money to the South Shore Regional
Library Board Adopt-a-Book campaign. Council
cited the fact it currently grants money to the board on
an annual basis.
Grants approved. A grant for $500 was approved
by council for the Blandford and Area Historical Society.
A $200 grant was approved for start-up help for the
Chester Municipal Crime Prevention Association.
New street names. Minnie Miller Lane has been
approved for the name of a new street in Hubbards off
Route 329 for a development near Northwest Cove.
Mallard Lane has been approved for the name of a
new street off Highway 3 in Chester near Stanford Lake.
